These appeals arose out of an action by Hannah Keesee to recover damages for the death of her husband, John L. Keesee, in an accident in Virginia. The wrongful death statute of Virginia provides that suit shall be brought "by and in the name of the personal representative of such deceased person;" also that the jury "may award such damages as to it may seem fair and just, not exceeding ten thousand dollars, and may direct in what proportion...
