Appellant was convicted in the lower court of the crime of perjury, in that he falsely stated under oath, in an application for a marriage license, that his name was Aflonso P. Mattison, and that he had had no prior marriage. A copy of the application for marriage license, in which the false statements were made by appellant under oath, was introduced into evidence in the court below and is set out in the margin.1
