The action is one by the United States for the benefit of Jackson Barnett, a full blood Creek Indian and an enrolled member of the Creek Tribe, to recover $137,500 paid to the defendant Harold C. McGugin for services as attorney for the wife of Barnett. This sum was paid McGugin by Mrs. Barnett from a much larger sum received by her in a division of money, all of which was wrongfully withdrawn from funds credited to Barnett with the Treasurer...
