The appellants, husband and wife, were taken into custody under warrants ordering their deportation to Italy. They admit that they are aliens of Italian origin who are here illegally. The husband entered as a seaman in 1927 and promptly deserted his ship; his wife was admitted in 1928 as a temporary visitor for a period of three months.
