This action in equity was originally instituted on October 12, 1936, by Abe Blackman and forty-three other persons on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated. The bill alleged that the plaintiffs were citizens of the United States, of lawful age, and had been residents of the State of Illinois for more than one year immediately preceding the filing of the bill; that each was a duly qualified and registered voter of that State...
