On August 16, 1936, at about 10:15 p.m., the appellee, Evelyn Brune, was severely injured in an automobile accident on the Mount Hood Loop Highway in Oregon. She was riding as a guest of the appellee, Ted McDonald, who was driving the automobile on a trip to visit a friend of appellee Brune.
