Since 1931 plaintiff has been a resident, and since 1933 a citizen, of the United States. In 1927 he and his wife, both then citizens and residents of the Philippine Islands, separated. In order to conform to the community property laws of the Philippine Islands, plaintiff and his wife entered into an agreement with reference to their community property.
