These appeals, which were heard together in this court, were taken by five persons, who, with fifteen others, were convicted and sentenced in the court below for the crime of conspiracy to remove and conceal distilled spirits upon which the tax had not been paid in violation of R.S. § 3296 (as amended, 26 U.S.C.A. § 1287), to defraud the United States of the tax on spirits distilled by them in violation of R.S. § 3257 (26 U.S...
