The United States of America, in its own right, and on behalf of Pansy B. Hawk, nee Lloyd, a Cherokee Indian allottee of 1/8 Indian blood, its ward, instituted this action against the Board of County Commissioners of Tulsa County, Okl., for the recovery of taxes assessed against land which had been allotted to the Indian for her homestead by reason of her being enrolled as a member of the Cherokee Tribe.
