The nine defendants executed a joint subscription for one hundred and fifty shares of stock in a national bank and a single certificate was issued in the names of all nine. It read as follows: "This certifies that R. P. Brewer, Wm. J. Kuder, C. C. Merritt, F. J. Fowler, R. A. Burger, Fred T. Wilson, Wm. J. Kuntz, Geo. W. Mahlstedt and Chas. M. Baxter is" (sic) "the owner of One Hundred and Fifty Shares...
