By a zoning ordinance passed in 1923, as amended in 1929, drilling for oil is prohibited in Oklahoma City except in the U-7 zone. The City Council of Oklahoma City has refused to place a forty-acre unimproved tract in the heart of one of its finest residence sections in the U-7 zone.
