This is an appeal by Harry Chase, a Columbia river pilot, from a decree based upon a finding of his negligence in piloting the Hammond Lumber Company's steam schooner Watsonville on the Columbia river in a turning maneuver from the main channel of the river into the channel leading to the Weyerhauser dock at Longview, Wash. The lower court found that as the result of the pilot's negligence the Watsonville came in contact with a flashing light...
