Messick, hereinafter called appellee, brought suit to obtain possession of four United States Government bonds of the face value of $3,500, which she gave National Trust Bank of Charleston, hereinafter called the bank, a written order to purchase, shortly before that bank temporarily closed its doors on March 3, 1933, pursuant to the "Bank Holiday," as declared at that time by the President.
