Harriman, who, at the time of the inception of the transaction here in controversy, was president of Harriman National Bank & Trust Company, was thoroughly dishonest, and a cheat of the first magnitude, admits of no doubt. In the later days of his power he became desperate, and engaged in a series of frauds so reckless and unconscionable as to beggar description and approach unbelief.
