Grossman, Campbell, and Handyside, being holders of notes secured by a mortgage on the land in controversy, brought a bill to redeem the land from a tax sale and to quiet the title against the claims of Cooke, who has bought and possesses the land, and against the claims of Dawson, who also asserts a prior right to redeem as the transferee of the defaulting taxpayer.
