The appellant was indicted in the Province of Quebec in May, 1924, for two murders committed on April 1, 1924 during a highway robbery of bank messengers in the city of Montreal. On July 14, 1934, a complaint was filed before United States Commissioner for the Northern District of California requesting a warrant for the apprehension of the appellant for extradition.
