The Mutual Life Insurance Company issued on the life of James R. Sayre three policies of a face value of $1,000, $25,000, and $25,000, respectively. They were in force on January 7, 1931. The policy for $1,000 and one for $25,000 provided for the payment of double the face value of the policies in the case of death occurring solely as the result of external, violent, and accidental means.
