The New York Life Insurance Company in 1926 issued a policy of insurance upon the life of Guy H. Trimble by which it agreed to pay $10,000 upon proof of death of the insured, and an additional $10,000, called "double indemnity", upon proof that death resulted from bodily injury effected solely through "external, violent and accidental cause."
