Hans Nicolaisen, a member of the crew of the steamship Point Fermin, filed a libel against that vessel for maintenance, and also to recover damages on the ground that the master failed to provide him with proper medical care and attention made necessary because of an injury to his hand, but instead required him to continue to work notwithstanding his injury, with the result that he had become permanently disabled.
