Kirby (for brevity called Kirby) executed April 1, 1928, his two promissory notes to plaintiff for $100,000 and $3,000,000, respectively; December 20, 1929, his promissory note for $200,000; and June 6, 1930, his promissory note for $300,000, each bearing interest and each secured by pledge (under pledge agreements of even date with such notes) of certain shares (aggregating 29,667 shares) of the capital stock of the Kirby Lumber...
