These are appeals from a decree in two cases which were consolidated and heard together below and which involve questions of liability under bonds of a road contractor and a subcontractor. The contractor was the Carolina Contracting Company, which had entered into a number of contracts covering the construction and paving of roads and streets for the county of Richland and the city of Columbia.
