These causes were consolidated for the purpose of trial, and involve the personal injuries suffered by the respective libelants on February 5, 1932.

They were stevedores employed by Brady & Gioe, Inc., and had been for many years. At about 9:00 o'clock on that morning, they formed part of a group of about thirty men standing on the Faber Line pier at the foot of 31st Street, Brooklyn, waiting for the Norwegian Motorship Estrella...
