This is a suit in equity for the alleged infringement of claims thirteen and fourteen of Solenberger's patent (1,670,082), for improvements in piston rings to be used in internal combustion engines. The piston of such an engine has a clearance between itself and the cylinder, which must in some way be filled to avoid the escape of oil into the combustion chamber, and to make a tight seal against the escape of the exploding gases.
