Byron Renew was in June of 1930 a seaman on the steamship Quaker City, then lying in the territorial and navigable waters of the United States of America and of the state of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia. At that time said vessel belonged to the United States of America and was operated by the United States Shipping Board Fleet Corporation.
