On behalf of the Mississippi Levee District, the State Tax Collector of Mississippi sued the Columbus & Greenville Railway Company to collect a tax for the years 1926 and 1927, under chapter 282 of the Laws of Mississippi of 1914, at the rate of $350 a mile on its main line within the District. The Railway Company had paid the tax at the rate of $50 a mile, pursuant to the provisions of an amending act...
