A grand jury in the St. Joseph division on September 23, 1931, returned an indictment in thirty counts charging defendants with various offenses against the National Prohibition Act (27 USCA). Prior to trial, the government dismissed counts IV, VIII, XII, XVI, XX, XXIV, XXV, XXIX, and XXX.
