James Hayes, master, and members of the crew of the yacht Surf, are under indictment in this court for a conspiracy to violate sundry provisions of title 2 of the National Prohibition Act, including substantive offenses as well as certain provisions of the Tariff Law. The yacht was seized in the territorial waters of the United States off Montauk Point, by officers of the Coast Guard Cummings for the transportation of liquor in violation...
