In 1917 J. C. McCombs owned about 24 acres of oil producing lands in Estill county, Ky. He also owned oil and gas leases on about 1200 other acres. On August 7, 1917, he entered into an agreement with H. A. Moore in furtherance of which on September 7, 1917, they organized the McCombs Oil Company, a corporation under the laws of Delaware. This corporation later became the McCombs Producing & Refining Company, and finally the Lincoln Oil Producing...
