Both appellees are cargo owners, who sued to recover for damages to their respective cargoes of bales of rabbit skins, claimed to have been sustained while being transported on a voyage from Antwerp to New York, arriving March 30, 1920. The bill of lading acknowledged receipt of all these bales in apparent good order and condition, and the evidence supports this claim. When the rabbit skins arrived, they were charred and wet, hot and steaming...
