STONE, Circuit Judge.

This is an action at law in 16 counts or causes of action for the recovery of taxes paid under protest and alleged to have been illegally collected. Before the trial of the case, 11 of the causes of action had been satisfactorily disposed of by the parties, and therefore were not involved in the judgment below.
