Petitioner is a Federal Intermediate Credit Bank chartered under an Act of March 4, 1923, c. 252, 42 Stat. 1454. All its capital stock is owned by the United States. It sued in the federal court for the eastern district of South Carolina to recover more than $3,000.00 claimed on certain promissory notes. The bank is located at Columbia in that State.
