This case was brought here for the review of a judgment against the defendants, Lord Construction Company and Globe Indemnity Company, in the sum of $39,601.73.

The United States, acting through the Navy Department, was engaged in constructing the naval hangar at Lakehurst, N. J. On March 19, 1921, it entered into a contract with the Lord Construction Company to do certain work in erecting the hangar and upon the grounds surrounding it...
