These four actions were brought by the American Can Company, a New Jersey corporation, and three of its subsidiaries, Missouri Can Company, American Can Company of Massachusetts, and American Can Company of Utah, to recover amounts which they paid on March 15, 1924, as Federal income and excess profits taxes for the calendar year 1917 with interest from the date of payment. These amounts were paid under protest as a result of additional assessments...
