On February 27, 1923, letters patent of the United States, No. 1,447,001, were issued on the application of Freeman J. Winchell, filed February 11, 1920. The plaintiffs are now the owners of said letters patent and bring this suit in equity against the defendant for infringement.

The patent covers an alleged new and useful improvement in "shank reinforcers," or, in other words, the invention...
