We shall refer to the parties as they were below. This action is for the conversion of 2,500 horsehides which were shipped, pursuant to a bill of lading, from France to the United States. The plaintiffs, bankers in Boston, Mass., gave the defendants a letter of credit for $33,000 to secure to them the purchase price of the horsehides which had been sold to the Roden Leather Company, of Grand Rapids, Mich., by the defendants.
