The suits arose out of the collision between the Rotterdam and the Tampico, which occurred at about 4 o'clock on the afternoon of June 30, 1921, in the Sabine-Neches Canal, at a point opposite the upper part of the city of Port Arthur, above the bridge known as the "Pleasure Bridge."
