On September 16, 1924, the New York Life Insurance Company issued a policy of insurance on the life of Dr. Samuel Alman. The policy was made payable to his executor or administrator, in the sum of $5,000 upon proof of death, and in the sum of $10,000 upon proof that death resulted "from bodily injury effected solely through external, violent, and accidental cause," within a named period.
