The original plaintiff in this action sought to recover damages for delay in the transportation of cotton shipped by rail at Stamford, Tex., for carriage to Natick, R. I. It was consigned to it. Four defendants were sued: The United States Shipping Board Emergency Fleet Corporation, the Clyde Steamship Company, the Mallory Steamship Company, and the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Company.
