Appellee fell and was severely injured while being carried as a passenger on appellant's vessel Suquamish, which was engaged in the carriage of passengers on Puget Sound. To recover damages she brought an action in a state court, whereupon the defendant therein, appellant here, brought this proceeding in limitation of its liability, under the provisions of section 4283, R. S. (section 8021, Comp. Stat.), which in substance is as follows:...
