This is a suit against the railroad company for an accounting under the Act of Congress approved June 9, 1916 (39 Stat. 218), commonly known as the Chamberlain-Ferris Act. Under the provisions of this act, it is declared that title to all lands comprised by the previous grants of Congress to the predecessors of the Oregon & California Railroad Company not sold prior to July 1, 1913, "be and the same is hereby revested in the United States...
