The September grand jury of the circuit court of Peoria county returned the indictments here involved. Defendant Walter Moody is a deputy United States marshal in the Southern district of Illinois. The other two defendants were federal prohibition agents, appointed and acting under and by virtue of the provisions of the National Prohibition Act (Comp. St. Ann. Supp. 1923, § 10138¼ et seq.).
