The first patent, No. 1,313,232, was issued to Speckerman on August 12, 1919, on an application filed June 30, 1917, and relates to a flat double package made of paper and cloth containing powdered borax; the container is stitched longitudinally to hold the powdered borax in position within the coverings or envelopes.
