[+] Kent Khuen on UNITED STATES v. M/V BERND LEONHARDT I was standing the cold iron watch in O2N2 plant #3 looking into hanger bay #3 when the collision happened. Heal to port was sever and I was knocked back against the air compressor. I went through the plant to the deck house and looked out the hatches where the life boat sponson is. There waa small fire out there that went out on its own. No collision alarm was sounded until after the collision. This might have saved a lot of injuries. I took pictures when it was light of the life boat and some of the damage. At first sound I thought a plain had hit the the Sara. Wow what a rush. I was a 3rd class MM at that time. I am now MM1(SS) Retired.
[+] dane elder on MILLER v. McGOVERN the 10th circuit got it wrong in part of this, because offsetting any benefit that is purchased has to have notice given at the outset of the agreement. Here, widows are blindsided because as big as the statutory scheme is--they aren't expected to know that something is buried deep inside a law. notice has to be early enough for a widow to protect herself by seeking alternative policies. She is simply not afforded that chance.

[+] Ann Rhodes Haller on COM. ex rel. HALLER v. HANNA This is a haunting account of lying and deceit. The above so called "mother" was cold and calculating; a vindictive manipulator, fooling the kindness of Captain Haller. "Judy" was ripped out of the only happy and stable home she had ever known at age 8, and given to a "mother" she hardly knew and a step-father she didn't know. She was forced to change her name immediately and strongly advised by this "mother" not to tell anyone. She was reunited with her grandparents at age 22. This is an example of a legal kidnapping. I am the object of this custody suit, formerly known as Judith Ann Jinkner.
[+] Harold Kistner on ESTATE OF FREEBAIRN This decision disgusts me. Why didn't these judges take the opportunity to follow the reasoning of their colleague by which they might have arrived at a decision that would have had the beauty of justice to add to the mind numbing convoluted nonsense that justifies the absurd.
