Opinion by Justice CARTER.

Jennifer Jill Whitehead was tried and convicted by an Anderson County jury1 for the capital murder of Emma Whitehead, an individual under the age of six,2 and for injury to a child.3 Whitehead was sentenced to life without parole on her capital murder conviction and to fifteen years' incarceration on her injury to a child conviction....
