OPINION

FROELICH, J.

{¶ 1} Derek Lamont Wilson was convicted after a jury trial of murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. The murder and felonious assault counts were merged for sentencing, and the court imposed 15 years to life for the murder. The court sentenced Wilson to an additional three years for tampering with evidence, to be served consecutively to his murder sentence.
