Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

Attorney General Roy Cooper , by Assistant Attorney General Stephanie A. Brennan , for the State.

Geeta N. Kapur , for juvenile-appellant.

ERVIN, Judge.

Juvenile J.L.H.1 appeals from an order denying his motion to be released from commitment entered on 19 November 2012. On appeal, James argues that the trial court erred by denying his motion for release on the grounds that the Division of Juvenile Justice failed to comply with the notice requirements set out in N.C. Gen.Stat. § 7B-2515(a) at the time that it extended the duration of his commitment period.
