JACKSON, Justice.
In this appeal we consider whether the admission of lab reports through the testimony of a substitute analyst violated defendant's Sixth Amendment right to confront the witnesses against him. Because the testifying analyst did not give her own independent opinion, but rather gave "surrogate testimony" reciting the testing analysts' opinions, we affirm the decision of the Court of Appeals holding that there was a Confrontation Clause violation.
