¶ 1. John Edward Johnson (Johnson) was convicted in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Mississippi, on March 5, 2008, of murder and sentenced to life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). Johnson appealed, arguing there was insufficient evidence to support the verdict, and the verdict was against the overwhelming weight of the evidence. This Court reversed the murder
