Defendant was convicted of assault with intent to commit murder, MCL 750.83; assault by strangulation, MCL 750.84(1)(b); and domestic violence, MCL 750.81(2). The convictions arose out of an assault against his ex-wife, KR, on March 6, 2016.1 He was sentenced as a second-offense
