GRAEFF, J.

Tuan Pingeran Hajireen, appellant, was accused of sexually assaulting J.M., an eight-year-old girl.1 A jury sitting in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County found him guilty of a third-degree sexual offense. The court imposed a sentence of seven years, all but two suspended, to be followed by supervised probation. Appellant additionally was required to register as a sex offender.
